741 BC, 1 Octyavr: Drakos, Galdheim, Severa, and Shade awaken from a deep coma and find themselves in the Blackard Inn.There are very few records in the domain of Barovia itself, as Strahd took great pains to keep his people in the dark. The following chronograph can be assembled through the experiences of the adventurers journeying through the demiplane of dread and through research discovered at Tobias Kenkiny's book store in Mordentshire-by-the-Sea. The domain of Kartakass uses the Calendar of Harptos, as its lord, Harkon Lukas, originated in lands around Cormyr. The domains of Mordent and Darkon use Gregorian names. The domains of Barovia, Gundarak, and Lamordia use the traditional Barovian names for the months. The Barovian Calendar is more similar to the Gregorian Calendar than the Calendar of Harptos is, roughly following the Gregorian's division of days. Since the demiplane's formation began with the domain of Barovia, the other domains that were later incorporated also adopted Barovia's calendar. The Barovian Calender is an alternative calendar used by the people trapped within the demiplane of Ravenloft.
